ADDIS ABABA, Nov 30 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Ethiopia and the Czech Republic agreed on greater understanding on the exchange of experiences and development of capabilities in the improvement, maintenance and research of military aircraft in the defense industry.
This was reported by the Office of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on his account on the social network X, formerly Twitter, after visiting a Czech institution dedicated to these issues, as part of the agreement between the two governments to strengthen cooperation in the sector.
Earlier, Ahmed toured sites related to the growing areas of Ethiopian-Czech cooperation in agriculture, tourism and culture, as part of a working visit to Prague.
The Ethiopian head of government arrived on Monday and was received by his counterpart Petr Fiala at an official welcoming ceremony at the Government Office.
The two leaders in their bilateral exchanges pledged to enhance cooperation in the fields of agriculture, mining and tourism, while strengthening existing cooperation in the defense sector.
“We want to help Czech companies win new orders. Ethiopia attracts investors from various fields to the country and we want to take advantage of this offer,” Fiala wrote on the same digital platform.
He revealed that there is a possibility of closer cooperation in the field of mining and iron ore processing or in engineering, mentioning the African country’s interest in Czech tractors. Trade between the Czech Republic and Ethiopia has the opportunity to grow significantly, he stressed.
“Ethiopia is one of the fastest growing African economies and has great potential in various sectors. Czech companies have expertise and technologies that could contribute to the development of the local economy,” he concluded. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
