Brunei’s CPI Decreased By 0.1 Percent In Aug

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Nov 26 (NNN-ANN) – Brunei’s overall Consumer Price Index (CPI), in Aug, decreased by 0.1 percent, year-on-year, the latest statistical figures yesterday showed.

According to the country’s Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, at the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the CPI drop was in line with the decrease in the Non-Food index by 0.6 percent, which was driven by the drop in Transport (3.5 percent), Communication (3.1 percent), and Clothing and Footwear (1.3 percent).

The Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages index has registered an increase of 1.7 percent.

For period-on-period changes, the overall CPI from Jan to Aug, registered an increase of 0.5 percent, compared to the same period last year.– NNN-ANN
