KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 (Bernama) — The UMW Group’s strong automotive sales momentum continued in October 2023 with the registration of a record 44,767 vehicles as both UMW Toyota Motor (“UMWT”) and UMW’s associate company, Perodua continue to deliver their outstanding orders. Accordingly, year-to-date October 2023, the Group’s automotive sales increased by 17% to 354,505 units from the 302,356 units registered in the same period of 2022.
UMWT registered 10,931 units in October 2023, its highest monthly sales in the last 5 years. It was also 18% higher than the 9,281 units registered in October 2022. Year-to-date October 2023, UMWT registered 87,442 units, recording a 9% growth compared with the 80,153 units registered in the corresponding period of 2022. To refresh its model line-up, UMWT launched the all-new Toyota Vellfire and Toyota Alphard on 23 October 2023, priced from RM438,000 and RM538,000, respectively. These models have set a new benchmark for advanced features, offering efficient and luxurious transportation solutions for individuals who appreciate sophistication, refined design and cutting-edge technology.
