CONCORD (New Hampshire, US), Nov 18 (NNN-AGENCIES) — One person was killed after a gunman opened fire in the lobby of a New Hampshire hospital on Friday, police said.
The suspect was shot and killed by a responding state trooper, police said.
The shooting was reported around 3:40 p.m. at New Hampshire State Hospital in Concord, police said.
The shooting occurred entirely in the lobby of the hospital, according to New Hampshire State Police Director Col. Mark Hall.
The suspect shot one person, and a responding state trooper assigned to the hospital shot and killed the suspect, Hall said.
The victim was administered CPR on site and transported to Concord Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, Hall said. Police are working to notify the victim’s family.
All patients are safe, Hall said.
New Hampshire Health and Human Services Commissioner Lori Weaver said at the scene she was “shocked and saddened” by the incident.
The hospital is open to patients but currently closed to visitors, Weaver said. A call center will be set up for families to reach patients, she said. — NNN-AGENCIES
