BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Nov 17 (NNN-ANN) – Brunei is poised to build its own national astronomy observation station in five years, which aims to complement existing institutions for educational purposes, Brunei’s Acting Surveyor General, Siti Saihalina said.
According to the local Borneo Bulletin daily yesterday, Saihalina outlined the achievements and future plans of the Survey Department of the Ministry of Development, at the Geographic Information System (GIS) Day celebration, on Wednesday.
Nor Imtihan, permanent secretary for Planning, Land Use and Environment, at the Ministry of Development, urged the Survey Department to provide more efficient and systematic geospatial information and services.
Some 166 participants from all agencies attended the briefing, organised by the Survey Department.– NNN-ANN
