YANGON, Nov 16 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar authorities seized 1.27 million stimulant tablets and five kilograms of methamphetamine in Shan state, in the eastern area of the country.
According to a release from Myanmar’s Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) late yesterday, acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle in the state’s Pinlaung township last week and made the drug bust.
Investigation found the seized drugs, worth 710 million kyats (about 340,000 U.S. dollars), were intended to be transported from Shan state to Mon state, the Committee said.
Persons involved in the case have been charged and further investigation is underway, according to the committee.– NNN-MNA
