TIRIN KOT, Afghanistan, Nov 12 (NNN-ANA) – Police have discovered arms and ammunition, including anti-aircraft guns, in Tirin Kot city, the capital of south Afghanistan’s Uruzgan province, a statement of the provincial directorate for Information and Culture said, yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, the units of police launched operations in Tirin Kot city recently, and discovered a variety of arms and ammunition, including an anti-aircraft gun DSHK, a ZU-23, a RPG-7, an 82 mm calibre gun, five hand grenades and thousands of bullets and projectiles, the statement added.
The statement did not say if anyone had been detained.
Previously, the security forces in identical operations discovered huge ammunition, including 18 pieces of RPG-7 projectiles, in the northern Jawzjan province, a couple of weeks ago.– NNN-ANA
