Sri Lankan Stocks Closed At Low Ahead Of 2024 Budget

COLOMBO, Nov 11 (NNN-XINHUA) – Sri Lanka’s Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), closed at a low yesterday, ahead of the 2024 budget to be presented on Monday.

CSE data showed that, the All Share Price Index (ASPI) was down 0.16 percent, or 17.20 points, at 10,872.28.

The S&P SL20 index edged down 0.23 percent, or 7.22 points, at 3,081.71, according to CSE data.

The total turnover was one billion rupees (about three million U.S. dollars), according to CSE data.

The ASPI measures the movements of the overall market, while the S&P SL20 follows the performance of 20 leading publicly traded companies, listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe is to present the 2024 budget in parliament, on Monday.– NNN-XINHUA
