KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 (Bernama) — Malaysian Gas Association (MGA) proudly presents the highly anticipated Malaysian Gas Symposium 2023 (MyGAS 2023), which is to take place on 16 November 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. MyGAS 2023 held under the theme “Revitalising the Role of Gas in Energy Transition,” will serve as an ideal platform for policymakers and industry leaders from Malaysia, the ASEAN region and globally to come together and discuss pragmatic pathways for the Malaysian gas industry. The event will be officiated by YBhg. Datuk Yatimah Sarjiman, the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy, who will deliver a keynote Address.
“Today, natural gas is the single largest fuel in the total primary energy mix constituting 43%. The recently launched National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) indicated natural gas to remain the single largest primary energy at 56% in 2050. We are seeing the role of gas revitalised and emphasised by the Government to ensure long-term energy security for the nation. This aspiration is in line with MyGAS 2023 which is designed for in-depth discussions on the enhanced role of gas in the global context of energy transition and specifically for Malaysia. With the world facing complex energy challenges, the symposium aims to explore natural gas’s role in addressing key priorities such as energy security, affordability and socio-economic progress. This symposium will conclude the energy conference in Malaysia for this year which has put major highlights on the pivotal role of natural gas as the cleanest source of fossil fuel.” Abdul Aziz Othman, President of Malaysian Gas Association (MGA) commented.
