LONDON, Nov 8 (NNN-ANDINA) — The National Geographic Traveller (UK) has included Lima, the City of Kings, in a recent list that features the 30 most exciting destinations to visit in 2024, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) reported.

“The Cool List 2024” indicates that the Peruvian capital stands out for its gastronomy, world renowned restaurants, and accessibility for travelers.

“It was the only city with two spots in the top 10 of the most recent World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards,” the publication reads.

Moreover, the article mentions two important restaurants located in the capital city, one of them Central, by chefs Virgilio Martinez and Pia Leon, named the best restaurant in the world and “regarded by many as having placed Lima on the global food map,” for its innovative focus on indigenous ingredients.

Likewise, the publication highlights the presence of Maido in Lima. Run by chef Mitsuharu “Micha” Tsumura, Maido ranks sixth in the top 10 of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards, and its heritage comes from the Peruvian-Japanese fusion, also known as Nikkei.

Likewise, the list highlights the experiences that Lima’s districts of Miraflores and Barranco provide for residents and foreigners.

“Away from Michelin-starred restaurants, rooftop bars have fast become the hangout of choice for Limeños,” reads the article.

Finally, Lima has been recognized for its accessibility for visitors, who can flow into the Peruvian capital via different airlines.

“Our capital has endless experiences for visitors, including gastronomic, historical, and cultural ones. You just need to travel around the city to learn more about our heritage and tradition,” it states. — NNN-ANDINA
