WASHINGTON, Nov 3 (NNN-ANDINA) — Pres Dina Boluarte said that her administration will soon launch a public and private investment shock, and invited U.S. investors to take part in it.

“We hope that investors, through the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will visit us, and we will be working together on our portfolios on that investment shock that we will soon be launching from Peru to (the rest of) the world,” she said.

“Peru waits for you with open arms,” she said in her remarks during her participation as a panelist in the Americas Partnership-IDB Responsible Investment Forum. This event also saw the participation of Presidents Guillermo Lasso (Ecuador) and Gabriel Boric (Chile).

Within the framework of the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) Leaders’ Summit, Boluarte emphasized that Peru “is open to the world,” adding that the country offers its stability and confidence.

“Peru is now a country in peace and calm, in open and sincere dialogue,” she said, who indicated that it is a sign that “the coup attempt” against her registered at the end of 2022 has been overcome.

The Head of State underscored the transfers of resources that have been carried out to unblock important (public) infrastructure works, such as Chavimochic, and to face the possible effects of El Niño Phenomenon.

This boost has also been given in aspects such as education and interconnectivity, as well as improvement of productivity, she indicated.

The top official recalled that Peru is the sixth-richest country in energy resources and the second-largest in copper production.

Elements like this can awaken the interest of international investors in the country, she said.

Furthermore, President Boluarte highlighted Peru’s Niños de Hierro” (Children of Iron) campaign to eradicate childhood anemia —as an effort in favor of development.

Similarly, the Head of State underlined the possibilities of cooperation that an initiative like the APEP opens up.

Moreover, she mentioned Peruvian participation in the Pacific Alliance —a bloc whose Pro-Tempore Presidency is held by Peru this year.

Within the framework of her speech at this forum, the president also expressed protest against the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which she deemed as an unnecessary war.

We reject violence wherever it comes from,” she said. — NNN-ANDINA
