PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan, Nov 2 (NNN-ANA) – Four travellers were killed and six others injured, in a road accident in north Afghanistan’s Baghlan province yesterday, director for the provincial police traffic department, Qari Mohammad Nazir Abidi, said today.
The deadly accident took place outside the provincial capital of Pul-e-Khumri city last night. The four dead were two women and two children, the official added.
Without providing more details, he said, reckless driving was the main reason for the deadly road accident.
Poor road conditions, lack of safety measures during travel on congested roads, ramshackle vehicles, and reckless driving have often been blamed for road mishaps in Afghanistan. More than 1,000 people have lost their lives in more than 2,200 road accidents over the past six months, showed official data.– NNN-ANA
