Six Missing As Boat Capsized In Southern Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Oct 31 (NNN-APP) – Six people went missing, when a boat capsized yesterday, in a water canal in Khairpur district of Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, rescue agency and police reported.

A total of 12 people were onboard the boat, which capsized in Nara Canal, in the morning, said the authorities. Immediately after the accident, the locals rescued six people alive, while six others went missing.

Later on, rescue workers reached the site but ended the search operation in the evening, which was unsuccessful, the authorities said, adding that, the operation will be resumed this morning.

They believed the boat was overloaded before the accident.

The passengers, who were from the local district, were going to a wedding ceremony, according to the authorities.– NNN-APP
