LIMA, Oct 28 (NNN-ANDINA) — Pres Dina Boluarte stressed that her administration’s purpose is to work jointly in the fight against crime.
Boluarte participated in the delivery of 150 pickup trucks for the Peruvian National Police (PNP) to reinforce operational capacity at police stations in Lima and Callao.
The modern pickup trucks are part of a 500-vehicle batch.
“They (criminals) won’t defeat us; we are firm, we stand united,” she said in her speech, adding “Peru wants peace and is committed to growth and development; that is why it is up to all of us to stand united in a single front against crime.”
Referring to crime, the Head of State said that “this enemy won’t defeat us,“ mentioning as an example the defeat of terrorism in past decades.
“I reiterate my call for the unity of authorities,” Boluarte said, adding “We all want peace and thus build the country’s future and development, with tranquility, dialogue, and social inclusion.”.
Similarly, the president highlighted the work of law enforcement forces.
“With this firmness and dignity, dear police brothers, we are not going to bow our heads nor bend our hands in order to catch criminals,” she expressed.
The president indicated that her administration continues to issue regulations aimed at improving citizen security, under the protection of the legislative powers granted to the Executive Branch by Parliament.
“We continue to work tirelessly on the enactment of regulations that will strengthen our actions in favor of citizen security, under the protection of the legislative powers granted to us by Congress,” she noted.
Later, Pres Boluarte held a working meeting with Piura Region Governor Luis Neyra and mayors of said jurisdiction to analyze the progress of prevention efforts in the face of the arrival of El Niño phenomenon.
During the gathering, she indicated that the clean-up and desilting of Piura region rivers continues. Boluarte added that the delivery of machinery will be expedited.
The president also reiterated that technical teams of ministries are meeting the requirements issued by regional and local authorities. — NNN-ANDINA
