Shooting in the US: Canadian authorities issue warnings along the border with the US

OTTAWA, Oct 27 (NNN-AGENCIES) — The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issued a dangerous warning to forces stationed along the border area with the United States after two shooting incidents occurred in the city of Lewiston, US state of Maine.

In the alert, CBSA asked officers to be alert for the suspect who killed at least 18 people and injured 13 in Lewiston. On social network X, CBSA said it had received reports about the tragedy that had just occurred in the US.

Canadian officers have been placed on high-risk alerts following the incident and are raising the same level of vigilance as American law enforcement agencies. 

According to CBSA, this agency is coordinating with domestic and US law enforcement agencies to protect the Canadian border against any threats or attempts at illegal entry. CBSA also expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the shooting. 

The tragedy occurred in the city of Lewiston, about 260 km southwest of the Canadian province of New Brunswick. US police identified the suspect as Robert Card, 40, a trained firearms instructor and member of the US Army Reserve. Police are continuing to search for Card. The fleeing suspect is considered armed and dangerous. — NNN-AGENCIES
