Kenyan Pres Ruto meets Queen Maxima, forges partnership with Dutch gov’t to fight childhood cancer

NAIROBI, Oct 24 (NNN-KBC) — Kenyan President William Ruto on Monday held talks with Queen Maxima of the Kingdom of the Netherlands at State House, Nairobi.

During their meeting, the Dutch government committed to creating a partnership to fight cancer in children between the Princess Maxima Centre for Pediatric Oncology in the Netherlands and the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Queen Maxima, who also serves as the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Advocate for inclusive finance and development pledged to support Kenya’s climate change mitigation measures.

“We are committed to strengthening our bilateral relations with the Kingdom of the Netherlands to aid our shared pursuit of Sustainable Development Goals,” said Ruto

The partnership with the Dutch government also includes the establishment of a Ksh1.52 billion Fish Processing Plant in Turkana and the implementation of the Agricultural Working Group that will work to enhance agri-business in both nations among other initiatives. — NNN-KBC
