Cambodian PM Opens Largest Public Hospital In The Country

PHNOM PENH, Oct 24 (NNN-AKP) – Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Manet, today, inaugurated the largest public hospital in the northwestern outskirts of the capital, Phnom Penh, aiming at improving the quality of medical care services to the public.

“The Techo Santepheap National Hospital is the biggest hospital in Cambodia, so far, with nearly 10,000 beds, and is well-equipped with high-tech medical equipment,” he said at the event.

Hun Manet said, the hospital will not only be a life-saving facility, but also a venue for building human resources in the health sector.

Health Minister, Chheang Ra, said, the hospital building, which includes a helipad on its roof, is divided into different units, including outpatient services, emergency, surgery, medical technology, hospitalisation, and logistics.

Located on the Win-Win Boulevard in Prek Pnov district, the hospital covered a parcel of 7.5 hectares, he said.– NNN-AKP
