YANGON, Oct 24 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar police have seized 1.02 million stimulant tablets, and 33 kg of heroin, in western Myanmar’s Sagaing region, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC), yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotic police searched a vehicle in Kalay township of Sagaing region, on Oct 18, and confiscated the stimulants and heroin, the CCDAC said.
Three suspects were arrested for the case. The seized narcotics are worth over 3.69 billion kyats (about 1.75 million U.S. dollars), it said.
The suspects were charged under Myanmar’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigations were underway, it said.– NNN-MNA
