GAZA/JERUSALEM, Oct 23 (NNN-WAFA/MA’AN) – An Israeli soldier was killed yesterday, in a raid conducted by Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, on the outskirts of the Gaza Strip.
In a press statement, Al-Qassam said, its fighters “placed an Israeli armoured force in a tight ambush east of Khan Younis,” adding that, they returned to bases safely after “destroying two bulldozers and a tank and forcing the armoured force to withdraw.”
It noted that the attack on the Israeli troops, who were carrying out an operation to collect information about the missing people, had led to the death of at least one Israeli soldier.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army confirmed in a statement that a soldier was killed and three others wounded by an anti-tank missile launched from Gaza towards its tank and engineering vehicle, near Kibbutz Kissufim, an Israeli community in the vicinity of the Palestinian enclave.
According to the statement, the Israeli troops were carrying out activities in the area as “part of effort to clear the area, and locate missing persons and bodies.”– NNN-WAFA/MA’AN
