YANGON, Oct 21 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar kicked off its mid-year gems emporium for 2023 in the capital city of Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, the state-run daily, The Mirror, reported today.
The emporium will put a total of 300 pearl lots, 160 gems lots and 4,025 jade lots on sale, at the nine-day event, which will last until Oct 28, the report said.
The pearl lots will be sold today and tomorrow. The gem lots will be sold on Monday and the jade lots will be sold from Tuesday to next week, Oct 28, it said.
Foreign merchants will purchase the jade, gems and pearl lots in U.S. dollars, euros, Chinese yuan and Thai baht, while local merchants will buy them in kyats, it said.
