CHANCHAMAYO (Junin, Peru), Oct 20 (NNN-ANDINA) — Pres Dina Boluarte reiterated that the goal of her Government is to make access to electrical energy viable, with these rural electrification projects being one of her administration’s priorities.
The announcement was made as she took part in the inauguration ceremony of the electric transmission project “500 kV Mantaro-Nueva Yanango-Carapongo Interconnection and Associated Substations,” held in the region of Junin.
“I reaffirm that the goal of my Government is to make access to electrical energy viable, both through the conventional methods or through a new solar energy, which provide an opportunity for localities situated in hard-to-reach areas,” she said.
In this regard, the Head of State noted that, to date, there is a portfolio of 118 rural electrification projects that will be implemented at the national level until 2026.
“These (projects) will generate direct benefits for more than 900,000 inhabitants in the most vulnerable areas, through which it is expected to reach 96% coverage of electrification in rural areas. We stand by you, people in the most remote localities in the country,” she affirmed.
Likewise, the dignitary explained that these are priority projects for her administration, since access to energy has a direct impact on the improvement of the quality of life in the beneficiary population, “as well as on the promotion of their productive activities and the industrialization of the most remote areas in the country.”
“They will also allow the population to have better opportunities because energy makes it possible to move towards overcoming poverty and to have better opportunities,” she added.
Moreover, the top official welcomed the work undertaken by private companies in order to get projects off the ground, such as the recently inaugurated one. — NNN-ANDINA
