HANOI, Oct 20 (NNN-VNA) – Over 95 percent of online fraudulent reports in Vietnam, in the first half of this year, target the banking and finance sectors, it was reported yesterday, citing the Ministry of Information and Communications.
The ministry received more than 4,000 reports from internet users about fraudulent activities during the cited period.
According to CDNetworks Vietnam, more than 87 percent of attacks combine two or more attack methods.
The banking system also faces the risk of slow connectivity with global applications, which greatly affects customer experience.
The ministry’s Authority of Information Security, advised organisations and businesses in banking and finance, to constantly enhance multi-layer security capabilities and be equipped with modern technologies.
The banks must also regularly issue warnings about new fraud techniques to protect customers’ accounts.
The ministry forecasted that forms of online fraud, network attacks and targeted advanced persistent threats will continue to occur in the coming months.
According to the National Cyber Security Centre, Vietnam reported 9,519 cyberattacks in the first seven months of this year, causing incidents to information systems.– NNN-VNA
