Cuba and Romania hold political consultations between foreign ministries



HAVANA, Oct 18 (NNN-ACN) — Elio Eduardo Rodriguez Perdomo, Cuban deputy foreign minister, and Traian Hristea, secretary of state for global affairs and diplomatic strategies of the Romanian foreign ministry, presided over the Inter-Foreign Affairs Political Consultations in Bucharest.

According to the Cuban foreign ministry’s website, during the meeting both sides exchanged on issues of the bilateral and international agenda, as well as problems of regional interest.

In addition, the perspective of taking advantage of the potential that exists between the two countries in the commercial economic sector was analyzed and the importance of maintaining regular dialogue mechanisms that allow progress in the respective agendas was confirmed.

The Cuban side expressed its gratitude for the position that Romania, as part of the European Union, takes in favor of the resolution that Cuba presents every year at the United Nations, demanding the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

The Romanian delegation included Elisabeta David, director general for International Organizations and Multilateral Affairs, and Valentin Budau, director for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Deborah Leticia Ojeda Valedon, Cuban ambassador to that country, was also present on the Cuban side. — NNN-ACN
