MEXICO CITY, Oct 17 (NNN-XINHUA) — Mexico President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said his country will continue its support to Cuba, including oil, amid the “inhumane” US blockade against the island nation.
Mexico is an independent and sovereign country that does not require permission from any foreign government to offer its support to other countries, said Lopez Obrador in his daily press conference.
“It is the people of Cuba that are suffering from the inhumane and unjust blockade, and we cannot turn our backs on them,” he said, adding that Mexico will help them in any way it can.
Lopez Obrador emphasized that his administration favors “universal fraternity,” justice and humanism.
