SYDNEY, Oct 16 (NNN-AAP) – A drive-by shooting injured a man, in the Australian state of Victoria last night, local police reported, today.
Victoria Police said in a statement that, a 50-year-old man was shot at, outside his property on Fourth Avenue in Altona North, a suburb in Melbourne’s south-west, at around 7:30 p.m. local time, yesterday.
According to the police, the man took himself to the hospital later that evening, with non-life-threatening injuries.
A burnt-out Mitsubishi Pajero was located by investigators, on Gill Street in Reservoir, about a 35-minute drive from the injured man’s house, at around 8:20 p.m. local time last night, which is believed to have links to the incident.
At the current stage, police regarded the shooting as a targeted case, but the exact circumstances of the incident were yet to be determined.
While the investigation remained ongoing, Victoria Police called on members of the public to provide related information or dashcam footage.– NNN-AAP
