TOKYO, Oct 16 (NNN-NHK) – A firefighter drowned at a beach, in Kashiwazaki, in Japan’s Niigata prefecture, during a water rescue training, according to local fire department.
Four people participated in a diving training last Friday, including the 26-year-old victim and his instructor. About 30 minutes into the training session, another trainee found the man unconscious in the water.
The firefighter was wearing a wetsuit and air cylinder at the time.
Police were investigating the cause of his death and the circumstances of the accident.– NNN-NHK
