SYDNEY, Oct 12 (NNN-AAP) – A chemical explosion occurred at a factory in the Australian state of Victoria today, which resulted in one death and the evacuation of at least 30 people.
According to a statement by Victoria Police, emergency services were called to an industrial building, on Swann Drive in Derrimut – a suburb in Melbourne’s west – at about 9:45 a.m. local time, following reports of a chemical explosion.
At least 30 people were forced to evacuate the building.
After fire crews brought the blaze, sparked by the explosion, under control, a 44-year-old man was found dead inside the building.
Victoria Police noted that no one else was injured in the incident.– NNN-AAP
