COLOMBO, Oct 6 (NNN-XINHUA) – Five people died, when a tree fell on a bus in Colombo, this morning, a spokesperson for the Colombo National Hospital told media.
The bus was heading to Deniyaya in southern Sri Lanka from Colombo, when the accident took place.
Seventeen passengers were injured and were receiving medical treatment at the Colombo National Hospital, police said.
The Duplication Road, one of Colombo’s busiest roads, was subsequently closed for traffic movement, due to the accident, and officials have taken steps to remove the fallen tree and the damaged bus from the road.– NNN-XINHUA
