This was stated by the top official before media outlets during the inspection of prevention works in the Cinco Esquinas (Five Corners) area located in Piura region, given the possible presence of El Niño phenomenon.

“The visit that we are going to make to the president of Germany also serves so that we can seek greater investment for Peru, Boluarte said.

“(…) presidents do not meet with prime ministers or foreign affairs ministers; presidents meet with presidents. It is important that the president travels abroad to seek greater and better investments for Peru,” she stated.

Seeking authorization The Executive Branch has submitted an official request to Parliament so that Boluarte can be authorized to leave the national territory from October 11 to 15, to travel to Germany, the Holy See, and Italy, where she will take part in a series of activities.

Along with the letter, the Executive Branch has submitted the respective draft legislative resolution, which states that the Head of State plans to go to the cities of Stuttgart and Berlin, in the Federal Republic of Germany; Vatican City, in the State of the same name; and Rome, in the Republic of Italy.

It also indicates that the President will participate as a guest of honor at the event called “Latin America Day, organized by the German business association Lateinamerika Verein e.V. (LAV, for its acronym in German).

Boluarte participated in a ceremony to recognize private companies and State-run institutions that collaborated in caring for the population affected by disasters.

Within this framework, the Head of State reiterated her administration’s commitment to having the doors open to dialogue, unity, and joint work with all political authorities and civil society.

“I call on you to continue with this close collaboration in favor of national development; we are facing a new challenge that we can only tackle if we stand united; it is El Niño phenomenon, which will be stronger than the previous ones; this will put us to the test once again (…), she said.

The president indicated that the Government works tirelessly to tackle this climatological phenomenon. She added that, for the first time, prevention work is being carried out in coordination with regional and local governments.

Here, all of us have to get involved (in this effort), and this prevention has to accelerate before El Niño visits us. We have to set a goal on a daily basis, move forward, and run so that, once El Niño has arrived, it does not find us short of supplies,” she said.

Likewise, the Head of State reminded citizens that the Government is allocating more than S/4 billion (over US$1.050 billion), which is not a small amount, so as to achieve efficient work at every administration level.

“We are sure that we will have your support shoulder to shoulder to deal with this climatological phenomenon; brothers, my message is clear and precise, let us build in a single embrace that country that we all want, a country that offers opportunities to all,” she expressed.

Boluarte thanked State-run and private institutions for their support during the presence of Cyclone Yaku in our country.

To you, (I express) my full recognition, gratitude, and congratulations for the efforts and dedication you showed; the country needs us united, because only by working together can we overcome any adversity,” she added. — NNN-ANDINA
