WASHINGTON, Oct 1 (NNN-AGENCIES) — President Joe Biden has signed a temporary budget law to prevent the risk of a partial US government shutdown and allow government operations to continue until Nov 17.

After the US Senate on Sept 30 passed the temporary budget bill , Pres Biden on the same day signed this short-term budget act to prevent the risk of a partial government shutdown.

Biden signed the above law just a few hours before the deadline of midnight Sept 30 (US time).

This temporary budget law will allow the government to maintain operations until Nov 17.

Earlier on the same day, in a last-minute effort to avoid the prospect of a partial government shutdown, the US House of Representatives passed the above bill with 335 votes in favor and 91 votes against.

This bill proposed by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy aims to fund the government within 45 days, but does not include additional aid for Ukraine.

If the bill is not passed in Congress, at exactly 0:01 a.m. on Oct 1 local time, the US Government will have to partially shut down.

Federal agencies have even drawn up detailed plans, outlining which federal activities will continue or stop.
