HANOI, Sept 30 (NNN-VNA) – Vietnam witnessed a trade surplus of 8.04 billion U.S. dollars, in the agro-forestry-fisheries sector, in the first nine months of this year, according to its Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, yesterday.
The sector posted an annual increase of 22.5 percent.
The country’s total turnover of agro-forestry-aquatic products reached 68.92 billion dollars during this period. Among this, 38.48 billion dollars was from exports.
In Sept alone, Vietnam exported and imported 4.8 billion dollars of agro-forestry-aquatic products, down 2.7 percent monthly and up 22 percent annually.
China is Vietnam’s biggest importer of this type of product, with the value of exports to China accounting for 22.1 percent of the total.
Vietnam’s agriculture sector in 2022, posted a new record in the agro-forestry-fishery export value, hitting more than 53.2 billion dollars, a year-on-year increase of 9.3 percent.– NNN-VNA
