Peru highlights bilateral ties with China and 10th anniversary of strategic partnership

LIMA, Sept 29 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peruvian Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Ignacio Higueras highlighted the bilateral relationship with China, as well as the results obtained after 10 years of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

Higueras’ remarks were delivered as part of the celebrations marking the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

In his address, the deputy minister referred to the long-lasting friendship between the two millennial civilizations that developed in the Asia-Pacific region.

Likewise, the government official stressed the importance of culture, trade, and investment with the Chinese people for Peru.

As is known, this year marks 10 years since the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Peru and China.

Last year, trade exchange stood at US$36.5 billion, and Peru registered a trade surplus of US$5 billion.

China ranks eighth in terms of foreign investment in Peru, with US$1.1 billion, according to figures released by Peru’s Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion). — NNN-ANDINA
