LIMA, Sept 27 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi highlighted the ties that bind Peru and Saudi Arabia, as well as the potential of the bilateral relationship, on the occasion of Saudi National Day.
“In a ceremony marking Saudi Arabia Unification Day, Minister Gervasi stressed the friendship, cultural, and mutual respect ties, as well as the potential of the bilateral relationship, with a sustainable development approach in favor of both peoples,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on social media.
The Peruvian government official recalled that, in order to develop such potential, she met with her Saudi counterpart, Adel Al-Jubeir, within the framework of the 78th UN General Assembly held in New York City (United States).
At that time, both authorities agreed on strengthening the bilateral relations at economic, cultural, and academic levels, as well as signing a general cooperation agreement soon.
The Saudi National Day is celebrated every Sept 23. On this day, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Saud united the Kingdom of Hejaz and Nejd under a new name: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. — NNN-ANDINA
