Two Monkeypox Cases Reported In South Vietnam

HANOI, Sept 27 (NNN-VNA) – Two monkeypox cases were reported in south Vietnam, the Ho Chi Minh City Centre for Disease Control said, yesterday.

The centre reported that a male patient, 25, tested positive for the monkeypox virus after visiting the Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, on Sept 22.

He was immediately quarantined for treatment.

The centre traced eight people in close contact with the confirmed case. Among them, one person residing in Binh Duong province, tested positive for monkeypox.

People in close contact with the cases have been instructed to self-monitor their health at home for 21 days.

The patients are now in stable condition, and have been instructed to clean and disinfect their houses and personal items.– NNN-VNA
