Police Destroy Hashish Land In East Afghanistan

JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Sept 24 (NNN-ANA) – The counter-narcotics police, have demolished 23 acres of hashish in east Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, provincial police spokesman, Hafiz Mawlawi Abdul Basir Zabuli, said yesterday.

The illegal crop was destroyed on Thursday and Friday in Achin district, the officer said, adding that, the counter-narcotics force will not allow anyone to grow illegal crops.

In other operations, police have smashed 2,070 acres of hashish in the neighbouring Paktia province, over the past week, the Ministry of Interior Affairs confirmed in a statement.

The Afghan caretaker government has vowed to fight against the cultivation of illegal crops, including poppy and hashish and drug trafficking, until once poppy-growing Afghanistan gets rid of the menace.– NNN-ANA
