YANGON, Sept 16 (NNN-MNA) – A total of 62 people were killed and 133 people injured, in fire accidents in the first eight months of 2023, in Myanmar, the fire services department said yesterday.
The fire services department said, a total of 1,069 fire outbreaks occurred during the Jan-Aug period.
The fires also caused damages of over 16.18 billion kyats (over 7.7 million U.S. dollars) and damages to 2,837 buildings, including houses, factories and storehouses, it said.
Last year, 96 people were killed and 139 others injured in 1,507 fire accidents in the country.– NNN-MNA
