Bus Veered Off Course After Explosion, Killing Infant, Injuring Nine In Iran

TEHRAN, Sept 8 (NNN-TASNIM) – A bus veered off course and crashed, after an explosion and a fire on board, yesterday, killing an infant and injuring nine others, in western Iran.

The explosion occurred at 04:00 a.m. local time (0030 GMT), as the bus was travelling through the Asadabad mountain pass, near Bahar County, in the western province of Hamedan, Hassan Khanjani, the province’s prosecutor, was quoted as saying.

The blast was caused by materials containing nitrate that were found in a passenger’s backpack, Khanjani said. The owner of the backpack was also injured in the incident.

All the wounded were taken to a local hospital, the official added.– NNN-TASNIM
