ISLAMABAD, Aug 26 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s foreign ministry, yesterday, reiterated its long-standing position on China’s Taiwan region, and once again restated its support for the one-China policy.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, made the remarks yesterday, during a weekly media briefing here, while responding to Xinhua on Lai Ching-te’s “Taiwan independence” stance, which he revealed in a recent interview with Bloomberg.
“Our policy on Taiwan is consistent and principled,” she said.
“We adhere to the one-China policy and regard Taiwan as an inalienable part of the People’s Republic of China,” said the spokesperson.
Lai is currently the deputy leader of China’s Taiwan region and also a Democratic Progressive Party candidate, in the Taiwan leadership election next Jan.– NNN-APP
