LIMA, Aug 25 (NNN-ANDINA) — The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PromPeru) reported that the business matchmaking event “Expo Peru Sur” —held as part of the International Fair of Arequipa (FIA 2023)— concluded with business expectations worth US$12.7 million, of which US$3.8 million consolidated during the event, and US$8.9 million will materialize over the course of the next twelve months.
This event aimed to contribute to the internationalization of the offerings in the agro-industry and garment sectors from the following regions: Arequipa, Tacna, Junin, Ayacucho, Puno, Apurimac, Moquegua, Cusco, Madre de Dios, and Lima.
A total of 69 exporting companies and 25 buyers from Germany, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, the United States, Japan, and Russia participated in the event, holding 322 business meetings.
In the agro-industry sector, the products that generated the most interest were blueberries, grapes, onions, and olives.
In the textile products category, knitted alpaca garments and accessories were in high demand.
Pomegranates and artisanal dolls captured the attention of foreign visitors as well.
PromPeru was also present at FIA with “Lo Bueno de Viajar” (The Good Thing about Travelling) fair, where tourism offerings from 16 Peruvian regions were presented, highlighting the cultural and natural attractions, as well as products from each locality.
A total of 44 exhibitors participated in this event, representing tourism companies, travel agencies, operators, lodging establishments, partners of the www.ytuqueplanes.com platform, as well as community-based tourism initiatives from Sibayo and Coporaque (Arequipa region), in addition to producers. — NNN-ANDINA
