Egyptian FM, Blinken Discussed Ties, Cooperation

CAIRO, Aug 22 (NNN-MENA) – Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, and U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, held a phone call yesterday, discussing bilateral ties, as well as, regional and international issues of common interest.

The two top diplomats emphasised the importance of working towards bolstering the strategic partnership between the two countries, through advancing various economic and military cooperation.

They also discussed regional and international developments, especially the situations in Sudan, Libya and Niger, and the outcome of the meeting of the Arab Ministerial Liaison Committee on Syria, as well as, the recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The two sides affirmed their keenness to continue coordination and consultation in the coming period, to face the growing challenges in the region.– NNN-MENA
