YANGON, Aug 22 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar authorities seized a large haul of narcotics and controlled chemicals worth over 2.95 billion kyats (over 1.4 million U.S. dollars), in Mandalay region, according to a release from the Myanmar Police Force, yesterday.
Acting on a tipoff, the anti-narcotic police searched a house in Chanmyathazi Township, on Thursday, and confiscated 47 kg of methamphetamine, 120 kg of heroin and two tonnes of illegally stored controlled chemical, caffeine.
On the same day, 9,612,000 stimulant tablets and 270 kg of heroin were seized in Chanayethazan Township, in the same region.
The suspects were charged under the country’s law. Further investigations were underway, it added.– NNN-MNA
