Five Killed In Building Collapse In North India

NEW DELHI, Aug 16 (NNN-PTI) – At least five people died and four others were injured, after a portion of an old building collapsed on a busy street, near a popular temple in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh yesterday, a local official said.

The incident occurred near the Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan area of Mathura district, which is flocked by thousands of pilgrims and visitors every day.

Those injured were admitted to a local hospital. The incident was recorded in surveillance cameras installed in the area, and it soon became viral on social media.

Giving details, Mathura District Magistrate, Pulkit Khare, said, relief work had been carried out and the cause of the incident was under investigation.– NNN-PTI
