MTWARA (Tanzania), Aug 15 (NNN-DAILYNEWS) — Tanzanian PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has called upon public servants across the country to work diligently in serving the people in order to realise President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision of providing better services timely.
The Premier issued the directives over the weekend while addressing citizens in a rally held at Majaliwa grounds in Tandahimba District as part of his working visit in Mtwara Region.
“The government is very serious on this, if you are a government employee it means you are a servant to the people and thus you must serve them …leaders should visit villagers and know their challenges …it is not right for them to wait for national leaders listed so that they can present their complaints,” the PM said.
He noted that the government is keen to ensure that people are served properly.
The Premier further directed the Head of Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB) in Tandahimba District to conclude investigation report on construction of Mambamba Health Centre in which the government provided 500m/- but its construction is incomplete.
He insisted that the report should be presented to him once completed for further actions.
On the other hand, explaining the availability of medicines in the district, he said the government is disbursing a total of 77m/- every month thus he is not expecting citizens to go to the health facilities and miss drugs … “You should make sure that you bring medicines basing on the diseases facing your people in the area.”
Furthermore, Majaliwa graced the inauguration of a water project at Kitama Ward worth 797m/- insisting citizens to protect water sources for sustainable water supply.
Deputy Minister for Water, Eng Maryprisca Mahundi noted alongside completion of the Kitama Ward Project, the government is undertaking key major Makonde Water Project worth 84bn/- to serve Newala District and Tandahimba residents assuring residents availability of clean and safe water in the region. — NNN-DAILYNEWS
