GAZA, Palestine, May 4 (NNN-WAFA) – Four Islamic Hamas movement militants were killed on Friday evening, in an Israeli army air strike on a military training facility that belongs to the movement in central Gaza Strip, medics and security sources said.
Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Health Ministry in Gaza, told reporters that, Abdulla Abu Mallouh, 33 years old and Alla Boubali, 29 years old from al-Mughazi refugee camp in central Gaza Strip, were killed in the Israeli air strike.
Al-Qedra added that another two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli war plane’s air strike on central Gaza Strip, east of al-Mughazi refugee camp, close to the border with Israel.
Palestinian security sources in Gaza said, Israeli aircraft struck a military training facility that belongs to the Hamas armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, in central Gaza Strip, not far from the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel.
Meanwhile, an Israeli army spokesman said that the Israeli air strike was a response to an earlier gunfire attack on an Israeli army force, stationed on the border with the Gaza Strip.
The spokesman said, one Israeli soldier was moderately injured and was evacuated to an Israeli hospital for medical treatment, adding that, another female soldier was slightly injured in the shooting.
Meanwhile, at least 51 Palestinians were injured, in clashes on Friday between demonstrators, who joined the weekly anti-Israel protests and Israeli soldiers stationed on the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel, medics said. They include 10 children, two women, one journalist and three paramedics.
Field paramedics said, the soldiers fired tear gas, rubber bullets and live gunshots at the demonstrators, adding that, many of them were injuries and suffered suffocation after inhaling the Israeli tear gas.
Meanwhile, Palestinian security sources in Gaza said, an Israeli army tank fired at least three tank shells on eastern Gaza Strip, targeting military facilities that belong to the Islamic Hamas movement.
The Highest Commission of the Great March of Return and Breaking the Israeli Siege had earlier called on the population of the Gaza Strip, to join the weekly rallies and protests, which started on March 30 last year in eastern Gaza.
The commission said that, the protests on Friday are against the United States’ decision to consider the Syrian Golan Heights under Israel’s sovereignty.
Gaza Health Ministry said, since the outbreak of the weekly protests, the Israeli army shot dead 273 demonstrators and wounded 17,000 others, who were officially referred to hospitals in the Gaza Strip.– NNN-WAFA
