Vietnam’s Economy To Grow 4.7 Percent This Year: World Bank

HANOI, Aug 11 (NNN-VNA) – Vietnam’s economy will grow 4.7 percent this year, and accelerate to 5.5 percent in 2024, according to a report by the World Bank (WB), released yesterday.

The country’s consumer price index (CPI) is expected to rise 3.5 percent this year, and will be stabilised at three percent in 2024, according to its latest economic update named “Making Public Investment Work for Growth.”

A challenging external environment and weaker domestic demand are leading to a slowdown in economic growth in Vietnam, but the economy will pick up pace, over the second half of this year and the following years.

Vietnam has set the goal to achieve gross domestic product (GDP) growth of 6.5 percent this year.– NNN-VNA
