Mexico: 2 killed in fireworks blast during religious festival

MEXICO CITY, Aug 7 (NNN-XINHUA) — Two people were killed and another 10 injured in a fireworks explosion at a religious festival in central Mexico’s Tlaxcala state, the state government said.

“Two people, a man and a woman, unfortunately lost their lives as a result of the explosion,” it said in a statement.

The blast occurred Saturday night at a church in the town of San Bartolome Tenango, where residents were celebrating a religious holiday, according to local media.
