Two Killed Due To Electrocution After Flash Flood Hit Mongolia

ULAN BATOR, Aug 6 (NNN-XINHUA) – Two people were killed and one injured, due to electrocution, after a flash flood hit Mongolia’s capital last night, emergency authorities, said.

Meanwhile, hundreds of gers (traditional yurts – a circular tent of felt or skins), houses, fences and vehicles have been flooded, the National Emergency Management Agency said, in a statement.

The water levels of major rivers in and around the city, such as the Selbe River and the Tuul River, have exceeded warning levels, the agency said, urging the public to take precautions.

The central and eastern parts of the country, including the capital city, are expected to see more rain in the coming days, the country’s weather monitoring agency, said.– NNN-XINHUA
