NEW DELHI, Aug 5 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez assured on Friday in this capital that her country has formalized its request to join the Brics, whose Summit will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from August 22 to 24.
President Nicolás Maduro made the request to join the bloc of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, the official told Prensa Latina after her participation in the session dedicated to the promotion of Venezuela’s potential at the 9th India-Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Conclave.
She explained that Venezuela plans to join the Brics energy commission given the particularity of being one of the nations with the largest oil reserves.
Regarding his visit to India, she pointed out that both States are reviewing the bilateral agenda and exploring ways of cooperation in different sectors and in terms of international collaboration.
On the other hand, she highlighted the resistance of Cuba and Venezuela in the face of the economic, commercial and financial war by the United States, and conveyed warm greetings to the Cuban people.
Rodriguez pointed out that Venezuela and Cuba are two countries that stand with their dignity high, overcoming rude and illegitimate blockades.
She noted that new paths are being sought for international economic relations with a new order that is for the benefit of the peoples and not for the benefit of big capital. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
