TUNIS, Aug 1 (NNN-XINHUA) — Some 2,262 slabs of cannabis resin, weighing about 226 kg, were seized Monday by Tunisian security in the northern suburbs of the capital Tunis, the Tunisian Interior Ministry said in a statement.
Nine people were arrested and two vehicles were also confiscated during the operation.
“The Judiciary Police dismantled a network specializing in drug trafficking in Carthage region, as part of the fight against drug smuggling and trafficking,” according to the statement.
The seized cannabis resin was estimated to be worth 1.9 million U.S. dollars. — NNN-XINHUA
