Peru, Switzerland sign cooperation agreement to strengthen energy efficiency

LIMA, Aug 1 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi and Swiss Ambassador to Peru Paul Garnier signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement on Monday.

The signing of this agreement will enable the development of the project “Strengthening Capacities for Energy Efficiency in Buildings in Latin America – CEELA, Phase 1 in Peru.

The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

Gervasi noted that the initiative will promote the improvement of buildings and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.

Moreover, she said the agreement will contribute to mitigating climate change and to improving the quality of life of the Peruvian population.

Likewise, the Cabinet member stressed that this signing reflects the excellent level of the bilateral relationship.

Additionally, Gervasi stated that since the Technical Cooperation Agreement signed in 1964, the role of cooperation has enabled the implementation of high-impact projects for Peru. — NNN-ANDINA
